ENTELECHY's founder and development sage Deana Swetlik has more than 25 years of experience. Ms. Swetlik has a sound understanding of all aspects of the development process given her first hand experience in land development, vertical development, consulting, and the public sector. The day-to-day expertise gained throughout her career; built on a foundation of professional training in architecture, planning, and real estate finance; provides a rich palette to utilize in each development pursuit. Deana's career emphasis on the delicate balance of social, environment, physical, and financial components of development is paramount for a successful development. She has an innate ability to understand the complexities around development, from initial site selection through construction, this is—taking potential to reality—or entelechy. Ms. Swetlik also provides strategic and operational leadership to growing and diversifying companies.

Deana has worked in 18 U.S. states creating development strategies for:

  • 250 acres of public housing

  • 1,200 acres of waterfront

  • 4,500 acres of brownfields

  • 5,500 acres of transit districts

  • 12,000 acres of greyfields

  • 20,000 acres of greenfields

Ms. Swetlik has taught planning and urban design courses at UC-Denver, has published articles in various publications including Urban Land Magazine and the Colorado Real Estate Journal, has spoken at conferences (most recently on attainable housing), and has been actively involved with the Urban Land Institute and the Congress for The New Urbanism. Deana believes in life-long learning, enjoys being in the outdoors, and creates mixed media art, all things that feed the soul.
